RICO is setting new standards in production efficiency: through targeted process optimization, the company has succeeded in significantly reducing cycle times in the series production of single-wire seals and approaching 0ppm.

Hot and cold: Clamping force -30%, energy consumption -20%

The 256-cavity mold with a shot weight of 0.6 grams per cavity produces single-conductor seals. Targeted optimization reduces the clamping force from 130 tons to 90 tons, which is possible even when cold, without damaging the components. Increased efficiency is achieved thanks to the compact dimensions of the mold. The small size increases productivity and saves up to 20% of energy costs by perfecting the thermal budget. The cold runner with special nozzle system developed in-house at RICO ensures waste-free direct gating.

Cycle time 12 seconds with 256 cavities

The production process remains stable thanks to the self-balancing process. Dosing, cross-linking and demolding - everything runs in parallel. The electrical handling rounds off the process and increases the cycle speed. It also enables a demoulding concept tailored to the customer.

The dual demolding system allows both production as bulk material and individual test separation. The individual nest separation leads to higher availability in production and enables controlled fault containment. Thanks to the quick-clamping system and integrated functions - such as centering in the change package - it is easy to change different sets of inserts quickly and without friction from the front. This helps to avoid expensive downtimes and repair costs.
