DATA PROTECTION
General information
For RICO Group GmbH (hereinafter referred to as RICO), data protection and information security are the basis for stable and successful customer relationships and are of great importance to the company.
The purpose of this privacy policy is to disclose which data is processed by this website and how this data is handled. RICO complies with all provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act and the Telecommunications Act, as amended, when handling personal data. Furthermore, RICO has taken the technical and organizational measures required for appropriate data protection in its own area of responsibility. RICO undertakes to comply with the provisions of the data protection regulations, but is not responsible if third parties - despite all security measures - nevertheless succeed in gaining access to data and information in an unlawful manner.
Processing of personal data
Your personal data will only be processed for the stated purpose or to process the requests you have commissioned. Furthermore, your personal data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to achieve the respective purpose or within the scope of statutory retention periods. If consent is required for the lawful processing of your data, we will obtain your express consent prior to processing.

When you visit our website, certain data is automatically collected for system administration, statistical or security purposes and stored on our servers:
- Browser type and version
- Model name of the cell phone and a generic device identifier
- Operating system used
- Website from which the user www.rico-group.at visits (referrer URL)
- Website that the user visits
- Date and time of access
- IP address of the user's computer
This data is stored separately from any contact details provided (in particular title, name, e-mail address) for the duration of the website visit and evaluated for statistical purposes in order to optimize the offers on www.rico-group.at.
Cookies
So that you can use the RICO website without restrictions, we use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files that enable the user to be recognized and your use of our website to be analyzed. A randomly generated unique identification number is stored in these text files. A cookie also contains information about its origin and the storage period. These cookies cannot store any other data. The setting of session cookies does not allow us to view files on your computer.
The cookies set by RICO do not pose any risk to the user's computer system, as they do not cause any damage and do not contain any viruses or similar. Furthermore, no personal data is collected via cookies.
The use of cookies can be prevented by making the appropriate browser settings. If your browser supports "do-not-track" technology and you have activated it, no user profile will be created about your visit. However, please note that this website may not be fully usable without cookies.
Cookiebot
We use the consent management service Cookiebot, from Usercentrics A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark (Usercentrics). This enables us to obtain and manage the consent of website users for data processing. The processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation (Art. 7 para. 1 GDPR) to which we are subject (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR). The following data is processed with the help of cookies:
Your IP address (the last three digits are set to '0'). Date and time of consent. Browser information URL from which the consent was sent. An anonymous, random and encrypted key Your consent status of the end user, as proof of consent
The key and consent status are stored in the browser for 12 months using the "CookieConsent" cookie. This means that your cookie preference is retained for subsequent page requests. With the help of the key, your consent can be verified and tracked.
If you enable the "bulk consent" service feature to enable consent for multiple websites through a single end-user consent, the service will additionally store a separate, random, unique ID with your consent. If all of the following criteria are met, this key is stored in the third-party cookie "CookieConsentBulkTicket" in your browser in encrypted form: You activate the bulk consent function in the service configuration. You allow third-party cookies via browser settings. You have deactivated "Do not track" via the browser settings. You accept all or at least certain types of cookies when you give your consent.
The functionality of the website is not guaranteed without the processing.
Usercentrics is the recipient of your personal data and acts as a processor for us.
The processing takes place in the European Union. Further information on objection and removal options vis-à-vis Usercentrics can be found at: https://www.cookiebot.com/de/privacy-policy/
Your personal data will be deleted on an ongoing basis after 12 months or immediately after termination of the contract between us and Usercentrics.
Please note our general information on deleting and deactivating cookies.
Matomo
This website uses the open source web analysis service Matomo. With the help of Matomo, we are able to collect and analyze data about the use of our website by website visitors. This enables us to find out, among other things, when which pages were accessed and from which region. We also record various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer, browser and operating system used) and can measure whether our website visitors perform certain actions (e.g. clicks, purchases, etc.). The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's terminal device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. IP anonymization We use IP anonymization for the analysis with Matomo. This means that your IP address is shortened before the analysis so that it can no longer be clearly assigned to you. Cookie-free analysis We have configured Matomo so that Matomo does not store any cookies in your browser. Hosting We host Matomo exclusively on our own servers so that all analysis data remains with us and is not passed on.
Use of Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze website usage. The data obtained from this is used to optimize our website and advertising measures.
Google Analytics is provided to us by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes the website usage data on our behalf and is contractually obliged to take measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the processed data.
The following data, among others, is recorded during your website visit:
- Pages accessed
- The achievement of "website goals" (e.g. contact requests and newsletter registrations)
- Your behavior on the pages (e.g. length of stay, clicks, scrolling behavior)
- Your approximate location (country and city)
- Your IP address (in abbreviated form, so that no clear assignment is possible)
- Technical information such as browser, internet provider, end device and screen resolution
- Source of origin of your visit (i.e. via which website or advertising medium you came to us)
Personal data such as name, address or contact details are never transmitted to Google Analytics.
This data is transferred to Google servers in the USA. We would like to point out that the same level of protection under data protection law cannot be guaranteed in the USA as within the EU.
Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a period of two years since your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID with which you can be recognized on future visits to the website.
The recorded data is stored together with the randomly generated user ID, which enables the evaluation of pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data remains stored in aggregated form indefinitely.
If you do not agree to the collection of data, you can prevent this by installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics or by rejecting cookies via our cookie settings dialog (Cookiebot).
Google Maps
This site uses the map service Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. To use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer. If Google Maps is activated, Google may use Google Fonts for the purpose of uniform display of fonts. When you call up Google Maps, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers and to make it easy to find the places we have indicated on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/ and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/sccs/. You can find more information on the handling of user data in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
Facebook Custom Audience" / "Meta Pixel
"Facebook Custom Audience" and "Meta Pixel" are products of Facebook Ireland Ltd, Hanover Reach, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"). Our website uses a "Facebook Pixel" from Facebook, which establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. This tells the Facebook server that you have visited our website. Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account if you have such an account and are logged into it. If you visit other websites that also use "Facebook Custom Audience" / "Facebook Pixel", this information will also be linked to your user account. However, we cannot see which other websites you visit. If you are not logged in to Facebook during your visit to our website or are not a Facebook user, your website visit will not be assigned to a Facebook user account.
You can find more information on ways to protect your privacy on Facebook in Facebook's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. Specifically, you can manage what content and information you have shared through your use of Facebook via the "Activity Log" tool or download it via Facebook's "Download your data" tool.
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties. The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation. The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or after the purpose no longer applies. We reserve the right to delete or block e-mail addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this. After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
