LSR and HTV parts
HTV (High Temperature Vulcanizing Silicone) and LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) are both high-quality silicone materials that are ideal for injection moulding - but with different properties and processing methods.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HTV AND LSR
HTV
Natural or synthetic rubber- Origin: natural or synthetic rubber
- Temperature resistance: -50 °C to approx. 100 °C
- UV/ozone resistance: Limited
- Chemical resistance: Susceptible to oils/solvents
- Flexibility: very elastic, can age
- Areas of application: Tires, seals, gloves
LSR
Silicone (liquid silicone rubber - LSR)- Origin: natural or synthetic rubber
- Temperature resistance: -60 °C to approx. 200 °C
- UV/ozone resistance: Very high
- Chemical resistance: Very resistant
- Flexibility: Permanently flexible
- Areas of application: Medicine, electronics, baking molds
The choice between HTV and LSR depends on the specific requirements of the component and the planned production quantity. RICO offers both technologies from a single source - with consulting, toolmaking and manufacturing expertise at the highest level.
